In the summer of 2016 we were approached to design and develop the 3D look and feel, and 3D production pipeline for a series based on the Dr. Panda universe; a successful mobile and tablet gaming IP set in a colourful world with adorable characters. The project was a large collaboration between several different parties.
The main goal was developing a look and feel with a unique yet accessible character, that could be produced under set time and budget constraints without sacrificing quality. It also had to be compatible with the look and feel of the world established in the Dr Panda games, which range from flatly styled 2D games to full 3D environments.
Part of the look and production development was creating the first three 7 minute episodes at increasing production demands, which simultaneously proved to be a good test of our proprietary animation management system.
Throughout the process we’ve had the pleasure of working with a variety of talent outside our studio that helped made the look work as well as it does.
Unfortunately we cannot show any animated clips from the show until broadcast. We’ll update this page as soon as the episodes are released.
Dr. Panda TV series: Intro
Aside from developing the 3D animation look and feel and producing the first three episodes, we were also responsible for the Intro to be featured before every episode.
Promo Material and updated Dr Panda characters for games
Our 3D interpretation of the revised designs has already been put to use in all of Dr Panda’s new marketing material and merchandising as well as appearing in their latest 3D games such as Dr Panda Restaurant 3.
